Laser welding of small seams around cylindrical components is possible by manipulating the laser beam around the part. The controlled nature of laser welding allows fine components to be produced without discolouration or contamination. And produces a very smooth weld that is required in medical tools. The part is 316 stainless and about 10 mm diameter at the weld.
