Cutting of Polyimide: a 50 micron thick film of polyimide (Kapton) is cut using a focussed laser beam to show the flexiblity and precision which can be achieved. Lasers which can be used include excimer lasers fluorine lasers short-pulse solid-state laser and DUV solid-state lasers.SUch polymer films are used widely in the printing microelectronics biotech and medical industries.
